Add Streaming Audio to Your Site

Although there are many ways to stream audio through the net, this article will focus only on real audio streaming.

Step I: Creating Real Media File

You can convert any existing wave (*.wav) file to real media file using Real Producer Gold(free download). This software is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. The resulting output will be saved with the extension .rm.

Step II: Creating RAM File

Upload the .rm file to the server. Open a text editor, type the full path of the .rm file. Eg.:
http://www.yourdomain.com/music/grace.rm
Save this file with the extension .ram. Upload this text file to the server.

Step III: Linking

Now in your HTML file add a link to the .ram file (not to the .rm file). Whenever visitors click on this link, the streaming process starts.
