Program Overview

``Desktop Capture'' is a platform independent Desktop Capturing utility. Captured Desktop can be saved as PNG or JPEG image.

Requirements

Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or above has to be installed. Thats it! The program has been tested in the following environments running the said Java platform:

• RedHat Linux 8.0
• WindowsXP
• Windows 95

Program Operation

There are two options available when capturing the Desktop. You can either capture the Desktop with the ``Desktop Capture'' program running, or making this program invisible. All you have to do is choose the appropriate radio buttons from ``Hide This Frame During Capture''.

If you choose the ``Hide'' option, once you press the ``Capture'' button, the program window momentarily disappears and then appears with the captured image.

This program can save the captured images in two formats:

• PNG:
  When saving the file, give extension as ``.png''.
• JPEG:
  When saving the file, give extension as ``.jpg'' or ``.jpeg''.
