The best about this file manager is that it is not associated with any one particular Window Manager. You can use it under any desktop environment. You have the option to see the files & folders in tree view, icon view etc.. You can also set file permissions easily using this. Unfortunately this doesn't have the 'open with' right-click option. You cannot also launch a terminal from within the program. You can start this program by:

This is a DOS Norten Commander clone. The commands are displayed at the bottom of the app. The various numbers displayed therein refers to the function keys(F0 to F9). You can install rpm files from within the program itself. This app also comes with the excellent text editor MCEdit. There are various other tricks that you will learn as you use this program. The app git in this suite is also a Norten Commander clone. It comes with the following goodies:
- #git - the file system browser
- #gitps - process view & kill utility
- #gitview - ASCII view of files
Tip:In git select a graphic file & press F2 to view it.
